On Friday, 10 October 2025, Gilbert & George will be in conversation with Kinvara Balfour – director, producer, writer and speaker, at the V&A’s Lydia and Manfred Gorvy Lecture Theatre.

Coinciding with the opening week of their landmark Hayward Gallery exhibition ‘21ST CENTURY PICTURES’, this special evening offers a rare opportunity to hear directly from the artists whose provocative work has challenged boundaries in contemporary art for over five decades.

Described as ‘two people who together are one artist,’ Gilbert & George have redefined the role of the artist through their pioneering concept of the ‘Living Sculpture.’ From their home and studio in East London—where The Gilbert & George Centre opened in 2023— they continue to represent and examine shifting social mores and challenge the tastes and conventions of contemporary art.
